There’s just something special about “the first.” Ours is a society captivated by firsts. While some firsts may seem dubious (world’s first computer worm), other firsts are truly amazing (world’s first carbon neutral settlement).
One thing is clear – regardless of its significance, the first always seems to gets more attention than, say, the second, or fourth, or tenth.
At Xcel Energy, we’re no different. We’re proud of our firsts – first Smart Grid City (Boulder, Col.); first in wind power; heck, even our Denver office is the first high-rise building to feature a LEED Core and Shell (LEED-CS) platinum rating.
And now, our first blog.
While we may not be the first utility to blog, we do have every intention of making this a leading online space dedicated to an open dialogue and exchange of ideas.
Our goal is to help you better understand your energy, as well as the issues that affect the communities we serve, by engaging in an active discussion.
There are a variety of ways you can become involved in the discussion. In addition to our blog, we have developed a number of additional online resources, including our Facebook page and Twitter feeds.
We hope you engage us frequently and participate in the dialogue. After all, this isn’t about us. It’s a forum for you.
So now, here’s a chance to achieve your very own first. Drop us a line, add a comment or ask a question. Be the first to tell us what’s on your mind. And don’t worry, even if you’re not the first to comment on our blog, we’ll still think you’re pretty amazing.
We look forward to hearing from you.
