Three Tips for a Power Outage

As summer storms continue, it’s important that you have the tools and information you need should the power go out.  A power outage can be stressful, but using these resources can help keep you in control.

Do you know how to report an electric outage? There are several ways you can notify us when you’re experiencing an outage.

Our new online outage reporting tool is accessible from any computer, tablet or smartphone device and can be completed in just a few easy steps.  Simply visit xcelenergy.com/outage and select the “Report a Problem” tab. You’ll need the primary phone associated with your account to submit a report. Once entered, you also can request to receive a follow-up call if your initial estimated restoration time (ERT) changes by an hour or more, and when your power has been restored.  Of course, you can still report an electric outage using our automated phone system by calling 1-800-895-1999.
