Xcel Energy Minneapolis Tornado Restoration
May 22, 2011 a tornado struck in North Minneapolis. Xcel Energy sent 400 crews to assist with the recovery from the devastating storm. In very short order, the power was restored and the system was available to help residents and emergency workers recover and rebuild. Xcel Energy Tolk Station Coal Mill Cart
At Tolk Station, a large generation plant near Muleshoe Texas, a group of employees worked together to create a solution to a work problem - creating a new tool that both improved worker safety and saved time and money. Xcel Energy Downtown Minneapolis Transformer Replacement
This is the story of engaged employees working together to serve the customers of downtown Minneapolis. The project was daunting - replacement of a very large transformer in an underground vault near the light rail line at 5th and Nicollet Mall - but the results were stellar.
